On March 7, 2022 took place the inauguration ceremony of the new professional master program in Family Nursing. The event was attended by Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu, Swiss Ambassador Adrian Maître, Rector of the University of Medicine Arben Gjata, Dean of Faculty of Medical Technical Sciences Ilirjana Zekja, pedagogical staff and students of Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences.
During his speech, the Ambassador of Switzerland in Albania Adrian Maitre appreciated the practical aspect of the master: “The fact that students will have practical work through professional internships in 10 primary healthcare centers as well as in the simulation laboratory, is of crucial importance for the approach and objectives of the Swiss government.”
The Master, offered for the first time in Albania by the Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences, is designed to complement the new profile of family nurse, as a necessity to respond to the growing need for qualified service at the home, treatment of chronic non-communicable diseases and the aging population. The program aims to train qualified nursing staff to provide the highest quality of care to patients, their families and the community. Students will benefit from new curricula and programs which are coordinated with the programs of the universities of Leuven (Belgium) and Basel (Switzerland).
