Approved: Training on Mental Health Management in Primary Healthcare

Family doctors, social workers, psychologists, and mental health specialists gathered on June 1st under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and HAP for a consultative meeting on the training program “Empowering the Family Medicine Team in Managing Mental Health Disorders in Primary Health Care”.

The purpose of the meeting was to present, discuss, and reach an agreement on the program of this training in order to proceed to the next step, which is the implementation of these trainings. After fruitful discussions, the participants reached an agreement on the format, content, and duration of the training.

The provision of this training is an important step towards empowering the family medicine team – family doctors, family nurses, psychologists, and social workers – in delivering better services for mental health problems. You can download the respective guide at this link.
