The 18th Steering Committee Meeting of the Health for All Project convened on March 18, 2024, at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Tirana, Albania. Chaired by Ms. Mira Rakacolli, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, and Sabine Piccard, Head of the Governance and Health Domain at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the meeting aimed to review and approve the Yearly Plan of Operations for Year II of the Consolidation Phase, April 2024-March 2025.
The session commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Rakacolli and Ms. Piccard, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the Ministry and international partners in advancing Albania’s healthcare agenda. Dr. Besim Nuri, the Project Manager, then presented an overview of the main activities outlined in the Yearly Plan of Operations.
Key discussions during the meeting revolved around the proposed activities, with members actively engaging in questions and comments. The Steering Committee, composed of representatives from various healthcare sectors including the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Central Directory of the Operator of Health Care Services, Health Insurance Fund, and others, evaluated and eventually approved the Yearly Plan of Operations of the Health for All Project.
In her final remarks, Sabine Piccard reiterated Switzerland’s commitment to supporting Albania in achieving its healthcare goals, emphasizing the importance of sustained and mutual collaboration.
