HAP Distributes 831 Physical Examination Kits to Family Doctors and Nurses

The “Health for All” Project (HAP) has successfully completed the distribution of 831 physical examination kits to 46 health centres across 10 Local Units of Health Care (LUHCs) in the country.

This intervention aims to empower family doctors and nurses in providing higher-quality services to patients by equipping them with fully stocked kits containing essential instruments for physical examinations. The distribution has been successfully carried out in Tirana, Durrës, Kavajë, Elbasan, Berat, Pogradec, Lezhë, Shkodër, Mirditë, and Kukës.

Each kit includes a stethoscope for children and adults, a blood pressure monitor with cuffs for children/adults/obese patients, an otoscope, an ophthalmoscope, a peak flow meter, a neurological hammer, a digital thermometer, a measuring tape, a pocket torch, a body mass index (BMI) chart, a pregnancy calendar, a pulse oximeter, scissors, and a hemostatic tourniquet.

The beneficiaries of these kits—211 doctors and 620 nurses—expressed great satisfaction with the equipment, which will facilitate and enhance the healthcare services they provide to citizens.

HAP, supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), continues to strengthen infrastructure and capacity in primary healthcare in Albania.
