The cycle of two-day training sessions on building capacity for monitoring the implementation of treatment protocols for five Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) – arterial hypertension, type II diabetes mellitus, dyslipidaemia, asthma, and COPD – has successfully concluded.
The trainings were conducted between 4 and 19 December 2025 in Vlorë, Shkodër, and Kurbin, with the participation of 37 healthcare professionals from the Local Units of Health Care and from the managerial teams of 11 health centres.
The training programme focused on strengthening the monitoring capacities of Operator of Health Care Services, LUHCs, and the Health Insurance Fund to ensure sustainable, high-quality, and standardised implementation of treatment protocols within Primary Health Care. The training combined theoretical sessions with practical work in health centres, including medical record reviews, interviews with family medicine teams (family doctors and nurses) and patients, as well as observation of consultation settings.
The training was delivered by Dr Sosela Rrusho and Dr Klarida Papaqako and was accredited by the Agency for Quality Assurance in Health Care (ASCK) with four credits for doctors and nurses.
Participant evaluations indicated that the training was highly beneficial for daily practice, further clarifying protocol implementation indicators and highlighting the importance of supportive monitoring as a key instrument for improving the quality of care.
