Nursing in the Spotlight: HAP Supports a New TV Initiative to Inspire Future Health Professionals

The Health for All (HAP) Project supported the production of the first episode of the television programme “Work Without Whims”, a new initiative broadcast by Top Channel that aims to introduce young people to different professions through real-life experiences and help them make informed decisions about their future careers.

The first episode, aired in prime time, focused on the nursing profession and was filmed at the Dajç Health Centre in Shkodër, as well as in the homes of patients receiving home care services. Through the daily work of health professionals, the programme offered viewers a closer look at the essential role of nurses in providing compassionate, continuous, and patient-centred care within the community.

The episode also highlighted the development of home care services in Albania, an innovative model introduced and expanded with the support of the Health for All Project in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. It showcased the professional skills, dedication, and challenges faced by nurses and family doctors in delivering care to vulnerable patients outside traditional health facility settings.

By supporting this initiative, HAP contributes to raising awareness of the nursing profession and promoting its importance within the primary health care system. It also reinforces the project’s broader efforts to strengthen the nursing workforce, including support for advanced professional education and the development of new competencies for nurses.
