In response to the request of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection regarding the strengthening of management capacities of hospital managers, the HAP project supported the training course “Introduction to Hospital Management” that was finalized on 17th of November 2018.
The first ‘Introduction to Hospital Management’ training course took place in June/July 2018 with 20 managers of regional hospitals. The second training course targeted 20 municipality hospital managers with the purpose of improving their managerial competencies. This gives a competitive advantage for organizations and enables the hospital managers to carry out their activities more effectively and efficiently. The workshops are a combination of theoretical knowledge, new concepts, exercises, and know-how.
In order to provide the training, HAP contracted a panel of consultants with strong technical and pedagogical expertise who covered the following topics:
1. Management and leadership
2. Human resource management
3. Financial management
4. Budgeting
5. Procurement procedures in hospitals
6. Hospital pharmacy
7. Quality and safety in hospitals / hospital infections
8. Communication with the media and the public
9. Administrative writing and moderation of meetings
